Acro combines skills of both dance and gymnastics.The class focuses on fundamental acrobatic techniques, teaching skills such as flexibility, back bends, handstands, forward rolls and kick-overs to prepare for more advanced classes. In advanced acro classes dancers will train front and back walkovers, chin stands, hand balancing, contortion tricks in preparation for performances.
COMBO I & II
Combo I & II classes focus on basic movement and dance skills to develop coordination, balance, musicality, timing, and flexibility through ballet and tap techniques. Combination classes are a great way for students to experience different types of activity with the main focus on having fun and building social skills through dance!
Ballet is the foundation for dance technique and skills. The class focuses on developing muscle memory, correct body placement and proper use of turn out. Training our dancers in both the art and athleticism of Ballet through emphasizing the lines created created through movement.
Our Jazz classes focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing rhythms and patterns. Dancers will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Sport and Dance Team styled Jazz to help develop a well rounded dancer.
Our Hip hop classes are full of high-energy that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping & locking, and break dances skills. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.
Our Lyrical classes combine techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with current forms of popular dance. This class is structured around isolations, stretches, across the floor progressions, and choreography combinations. Exercises focus on increasing flexibility and strength, rhythms and isolation of body parts, and expressing personal style.
Contemporary blends creative dance and artistry with athletic technique found in Jazz or Ballet. These classes are for dancers who like creative challenges, connecting dance to other mediums, and physical challenges that require persistence and practice. Exercises focus on increasing flexibility and strength, total body connectivity, and creative problem solving.
Anthem's Production Pom class offers a unique dance class experience. Exposing dancers to pom-pom techniques, dance skills, and routines. The style of pom-pom is similar to a sports dance team, giving students training for future performing goals.
Skills focus on circle time, music and motor activities, name recognition, directionality, ballerina walks and curtsy, first position, plies', sliding, galloping and working in a classroom setting.
This class uses imaginative and fun activities to build strength, flexibility and body awareness. Special musical activities help to develop a child’s sense of rhythm. Includes ballet and music vocabulary, movement across the floor and group warm-up exercises. This is a 45 minutes/once per week class. Maximum class size 10 students. Ages 2-4 years.
